Built on Belief.

Grounded in Experience.

Oak & Slate was founded on a simple idea: that building a custom home in the Upstate should feel as solid and intentional as the structure itself.

The Story

Homebuilding Should Feel Personal

Too many families step into the building process with excitement and walk away with frustration. They felt rushed. Unheard. Like just another project on someone’s plate.

We saw it happen. We lived it from the inside. And we knew the industry could do better.

Oak & Slate was built from over 30 years of hands-on experience — not to add another builder to the market, but to change what building a home actually feels like. To prove that you can have a fully custom home with a fixed price, a defined process, and a builder who genuinely cares about the outcome.

We named the company after the materials we believe in most. Oak grows slowly and builds deep roots — strong enough to last for generations. Slate, when laid with care, can endure for centuries. Together, they represent what we build and how we build it: with purpose, patience, and long-term thinking.

More Than a Name. A Standard.

Oak grows slowly, developing deep roots and lasting strength over time. It represents stability and a foundation built to support generations.

Slate is chosen for its durability and longevity. Laid with care, it can last for decades — even centuries.

Together, Oak & Slate represents homes built with strength at their core and designed to endure — just like the relationships we build with every client.

We Believe:

Pricing should be clear before a single nail is driven.

Process eliminates stress — for us and for you.

Exceptional craftsmanship isn’t a selling point. It’s the baseline.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve built my career around the residential construction industry, gaining experience in many aspects of the homebuilding process. I take pride in delivering quality workmanship and believe every project should be completed with care, honesty, integrity, and attention to detail. I’m especially passionate about helping homeowners bring their ideas and dreams to life while creating an experience that feels exciting instead of overwhelming. My goal is to make the building process smooth, enjoyable, and rewarding from start to finish.

Rooted in the Upstate

Rooted in the Upstate

We’re not just building in this region — we live here. We’re invested in the communities, the trade partners, and the families that make Upstate South Carolina what it is.

Our goal isn’t to be the biggest builder in the region. It’s to be the most trusted one.
